PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland police say a camouflage-clad man who approached two women leaving a Snoop Dogg concert posed as a police officer, saying he’d been sent to escort them from the area so they wouldn’t be stopped for driving drunk. Then he abducted them, driving them south on Interstate 5 to Marion County. The women have told police the man threatened them with a knife in the Thursday night ordeal and physically assaulted one of them.

Both women, described as in their early 20s, eventually managed to escape. Marion County sheriff’s officers responded but the man had driven off. One woman shared with police what she says is a cell phone photo of the man, taken early in the encounter. Police say they are looking for a 42-year-old registered sex offender. Portland police Detective Mary Wheat says the man is sought on an outstanding warrant for sex abuse, as well as a probation violation.
