Citizens interested in the local food system can apply for open slots on the Clark County Food System Council.

The citizens’ advisory group aims to “increase and preserve access to safe, local and healthy food for Clark County residents,” according to a news release.

The council meets on the fourth Thursday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. in the CASEE Center, 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. Members commit to two-year terms of attending the meetings and participating in subcommittees.

To apply, call 360-397-8000, ext. 7211, or e-mail tricia.mortell@clark.wa.gov. For an online application, visit http://www.clark.wa.gov/public-health/about/foodsystemscouncil.html.
