Small business hiring the topic of workshop

The Washington Department of Labor and Industries is holding a free workshop for new businesses or businesses that are hiring for the first time, Jan Harte reported on her Small Business Development Center blog at http://vancouversbdc.blogspot.com/2010/03/human-resources.html.
The workshop is 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at 312 S.E. Stonemill Drive, Suite 120, in Vancouver.
The workshop will cover employer’s rights and responsibilities and give an overview of the services Labor and Industries provides. It also will cover workplace safety and health requirements, claims management strategies, risk management, quarterly reporting requirements and wage-and-hour laws.
