The Clark County Sheriff’s Guild has endorsed Deputy Prosecutor Tony Golik for the elected county prosecuting attorney position, bringing the tally of endorsements for Golik to seven.
Rick Buckner, the guild’s secretary, presented the endorsement letter to Golik on Saturday evening at his campaign fundraiser kickoff party.
The endorsement came on the heels of endorsements of Golik from the Vancouver Police Guild, the Clark County Prosecutors Union, the Vancouver Firefighters Union, the Portland Police Association and the American Federation of State, City and Municipal Employees for Vancouver and Clark County.
The race to succeed outgoing Prosecutor Art Curtis has drawn three other candidates: Clark County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Curt Wyrick, Assistant Vancouver City Attorney Brent Boger and Criminal Defense Attorney James “Jeff” Sowder.
Wyrick has been endorsed by Curtis. Boger has been endorsed by Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna.
