ROME (AP) — A man convicted in the 2007 slaying of a British student in Italy has written a letter implicating his co-defendants — former University of Washington student Amanda Knox and her boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito (sol-EH’-chee-toh).

In the letter to Italian TV station Mediaset on Thursday Rudy Hermann Guede (GWAY’-day) denies every saying they had nothing to do with the murder.

Knox and Sollecito were convicted last year of murdering Meredith Kercher in the Perugia apartment she shared with the Seattle woman. Guede was convicted earlier. All three are appealing their convictions.

Over the weekend, one of Guede’s prison-mates, Mario Alessi, said Guede had told him that Knox and Sollecito had nothing to do with Kercher’s death.
