Washougal High School students host Japanese Festival

Washougal High School students will host the fifth-annual Japanese Festival this weekend.

The event is Saturday at Washougal High School, 1201 39th St. Cultural displays and activities will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. in the high school commons. Japanese music and other performances will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Washburn Auditorium.

Admission is free for children 4 and younger, seniors, school district staff with identification cards and students with ASB cards. Admission is $1 for children 5 to 12 years old without ASB cards and $3 for other students and adults ages 13 to 60.

Native Japanese speakers will attend the festival, an exchange student will perform a traditional Thai dance and Washougal High School students will sing Japanese songs.
