New business news
The owners of Kazoodles toy store in downtown Vancouver opened a second location Thursday at the Columbia Square shopping complex off Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard and 136th Avenue.
Retail space availability and the market influenced the business decision to expand, said Mary Sisson, co-owner with her husband, Bob. The couple opened the downtown store, 575 W. Eighth St., in 2006.
Mary Sisson expects the downtown store to remain open. The lease will be up for renewal in 2011. The business employs three full- and part-time employees. Bob Sisson is also an employee of The Columbian.
