Inventory of homes on market declines in Feb.

CLARK COUNTY — The inventory of houses for sale in Clark County in February dropped to an 11.6-month supply, according to Portland-based RMLS listing service.

The number was down 37.6 percent from the same month last year. It was also down from January’s inventory of 12.4 months worth of homes on the market.

Local Realtors attribute the shrinking inventory to higher demand for houses, as first-time and move-up home buyers rush to take advantage of low mortgage interest rates and a tax credit set to expire in April.

February’s inventory number means that it would take 11.6 months to sell all of the homes listed for sale if no new listings were added.
