Fairy Godmother dress event set for Saturday
Thursday, March 18, 2010
VANCOUVER — It’s that time again: Time for thousands of area high school girls to descend on the Westfield Vancouver mall to find the right pre-used prom dress at an incredible $10 price.
Operation Fairy Godmother, organized by the Vancouver School District Foundation, will run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the former Mervyn’s store on the mall’s upper level, across from the food court.
Girls also may shop for accessories, get makeup and hair-styling tips and get professional photographs. They will get sizing help, while hundreds of door prizes will be distributed.
Doors open at 10 o’clock for girls who have exchange coupons distributed at participating high schools, but lines will form much sooner, so an early arrival is recommended.
Doors open at noon for those without exchange coupons.
Current school identification is required for entry for all girls seeking a dress.
