City, port hire consultants for redevelopment plan

RIDGEFIELD — The city and Port of Ridgefield have hired consultants to develop a strategic plan for redeveloping Ridgefield’s downtown and Lake River waterfront.

Normandeau Associates, a Bedford, N.H.-based environmental consulting and management firm with offices in Vancouver, and Maul Foster Alongi, an engineering, planning and landscape architecture company in Portland, were selected for the project.

The project, funded by a $100,000 Integrated Planning Grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology, will define the needs, opportunities, available resources, formal and informal partnerships, and actions necessary for redevelopment.

The city of Ridgefield will act as lead agency on the grant and funds must be spent by June 30, 2011.
