KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) — A counterterrorism official says police have arrested three Taliban militants and seized a bomb-making factory in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi.
Raja Omar Khatab says police raided a house in the city’s industrial area on Saturday and forced the militants to surrender after a gunbattle. No one was injured.
He says that after their arrest, the suspects led police elsewhere to the bomb factory. A large number of explosives, detonators and other bomb-making material was seized.
Pakistan has been plagued recently by a spate of suicide bombings.
