EDMONDS, Wash. (AP) — Eight teenage girls who were at a sleepover are unharmed after a fire broke out in the house.
Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes says the teens fled when they saw smoke coming from the home’s basement and heard smoke alarms.
She says more than 30 firefighters fought the blaze Saturday morning that eventually destroyed the $275,000 home.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the fire. Officials were expected to continue the investigation Sunday.
