Historian and archivist Richard H. Engeman will conduct a two-hour workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday on “making your family photographs last longer than you do.”

The workshop at the Clark County Historical Museum will be limited to 15 participants. Cost will be $20 and reservations are required.

Participants can bring valued prints, negatives, albums, tintypes, daguerreotypes and color slides for advice on how to preserve them for the long term. They also will learn how to know when it’s best to leave a bad photograph alone, and how to know when that bad photo can be made better.

Engeman will discuss the care, handling, and storage of historic photographs; scanning as a preservation tool; ways to share and use your photographs while preserving the original images; and where to look for expertise and supplies.

Storage sleeves, boxes and albums will be discussed and will be for sale. Call 360-993-5679 or visit the museum at 1511 Main St. for reservations.
