BRUSSELS (AP) — Iljo Keisse of Belgium has broken his left collarbone during practice for the track cycling world championships.

Team Quick Step said the multiple European and Belgian track cycling champion injured himself during training in Copenhagen in the run-up to the championships and returned home to Belgium on Tuesday to assess the damage to his shoulder.

The team said Keisse was riding at more than 37 mph when a cyclist fell in front of him on the banked track of the Ballerup Super Arena and he tumbled over him.

The championships open on Wednesday.
