BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — Washington state and British Columbia officials say the second daily Amtrak train between Seattle and Vancouver will continue to run through September.

The second Amtrak Cascades train was added last August as a pilot project, and was to last through the Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic games. The Paralympic Games ended Sunday.

The Bellingham Herald reports that the future of the train service depends on whether Canada’s Border Services Agency will waive a $1,500-per-day border inspection fee, money that Washington state doesn’t have budgeted.
