SEATTLE (AP) — A spring storm is blowing through Washington with the feel of winter: gusty winds, heavy rain and snow in the mountains.

A winter storm warning remains in effect through Tuesday morning for the Cascades and Olympics. And forecasters expect cool showery weather for the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service expects up to a foot of new snow Monday in the mountains. The Transportation Department advises traction tires on Snoqualmie and Stevens passes.

The Weather Service expects heavy rain on the Olympics to cause minor flooding along the Skokomish River.

Forecasters say the storm could generate thunderstorms Monday afternoon in Eastern Washington.
