Deputies investigate string of neighborhood burglaries

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two residential burglaries and a failed attempt that all took place in the same neighborhood Tuesday morning during a seven-hour stretch.

In fact, the three homes were all within 725 feet of each other, said Sgt. Bill Roberts.

Deputies responded to a home in the 15800 block Northeast 76th Street for a burglary believed to have taken place between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The homeowner there found a muddy foot print on the carpet, an open sliding glass door and a missing Nintendo Wii.

Later, deputies responded to a home in the 7700 block of Northeast 159th Avenue where a GPS unit, credit cards and a purse were stolen from a car parked in an unlocked garage.

While deputies investigated the burglary, a homeowner in the 7600 block of Northeast 159th Avenue stopped by to say the she interrupted a burglary at about 4:20 a.m.

She said the suspect fled when she turned on the light. She told deputies she saw a man’s hand and forearm.
