Skyview tops River in ping-pong event

Skyview defeated Columbia River on March 17 in a table tennis tournament between teams from each school.

Leading the Storm to victory were Chris Erkkila (first place), Nick Phillips (second place) and Peter Waters (fourth place).

Columbia River has had a table tennis club for many years and Skyview formed its club shortly after the end of the 2009 high school football season was over, said Phillips, Skyview’s captain.

Phillips said another tournament might be organized in June. He said he is hoping more Clark County high schools form table tennis clubs so that more tournaments can be scheduled.
