MIAMI (AP) — Marlins right-hander Clay Hensley will miss at least three games following the unexpected death of his father.
Hensley was placed on the bereavement list, and left-hander Hunter Jones was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans and joined the Marlins before Saturday’s game against Washington.
Jones was 0-1 with a 3.22 ERA in four starts for New Orleans. He was acquired last November in the trade that sent outfielder Jeremy Hermida to Boston.
Hensley has a 2.13 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 12 2-3 innings out of the bullpen this season.
