Published: May 9, 2010, 12:00am

Spring chinook fishing in the Bonneville, The Dalles and John Day pools of the Columbia River Gorge will be closed beginning Monday.

Anglers in the three pools will have taken their allocation of about 3,400 spring chinook.

The closure includes fishing from a boat from the Tower Island power lines downstream of The Dalles Dam upstream to McNary Dam, plus fishing from the shore in both Washington and Oregon in all three pools.

Boat fishing for spring chinook is not allowed between Bonneville Dam and the Tower Island power lines.

The closure does not affect fishing at the mouth of Wind River or at Drano Lake.
