RAINIER, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon State Police is asking for the public’s help in finding whoever is responsible for shooting a bald eagle along the Columbia River.
Fish & Wildlife Trooper Tim Schwartz says a pair of horseback riders discovered the injured eagle late last month on Dibblee Point Beach near Rainier.
The eagle is being treated at the Wildlife Center of the North Coast. X-rays revealed nearly three dozen shotgun BBs throughout the eagle’s body, including seven in its head.
A $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
