NEW YORK (AP) — Mike Krzyzewski and Geno Auriemma ended their college seasons with national championships. Now they’ll spend the summer getting ready for their next challenge — guiding the U.S. men’s and women’s basketball teams to gold at the world championships.

Krzyzewski led the Americans to gold in the 2008 Olympics and bronze at the 2006 worlds before agreeing to return to coach the U.S. through the 2012 London Games.

The U.S. hasn’t won at worlds since 1994. Krzyzewski also led the American team to a third-place finish with college players in 1990.

Auriemma will try to help the U.S. reclaim the world championship after a third-place finish in 2006.

The two will be honored Wednesday night at the New York Athletic Club.
