Former Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard has launched a one-man political mentoring business, after serving 14 years as mayor and seven years on the city council.

“It would be for people or companies,” said Pollard, 71, who named the new venture Royce Pollard Counseling and Mentoring. Pollard expects to draw on his knowledge of the political landscape in Olympia and in Washington, D.C.

“I can tell them where I think the land mines are,” Pollard said. The former U.S. Army officer said he has friends in both the Democratic and Republican parties and considers himself an Independent or Centrist.
