WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is noting progress toward better governance in Afghanistan, but says he and President Hamid Karzai agree there is “much, much more that has to be done.”
Obama also says that the two leaders are working on a relationship built on mutual respect, despite differences.
In assessing the U.S. military effort in the country, Obama said Wednesday that “we’ve begun to reverse the momentum” of the militant Taliban insurgency. He spoke at a White House news conference with Karzai.
