MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have decided to reinstate left-handed reliever Jose Mijares from the 15-day disabled list and option catcher Wilson Ramos to Triple-A Rochester.

The announcement was made by manager Ron Gardenhire after Wednesday’s win over Chicago. Mijares will be officially added to the roster before Friday’s game in New York, giving the Twins a 12-man pitching staff.

Mijares has been out for a month with a strained left elbow. He was hit hard in two appearances with Triple-A Rochester last week, allowing six hits and five runs in 1 2-3 innings, but said his arm felt fine.

Ramos hit .296 with three doubles, but had only one hit in his last 18 at-bats. Gardenhire said the team wants the top prospect to keep developing by playing every day.
