A Vancouver driver was involved in an overnight collision near Centralia that tangled two vehicles and a semi-truck and blocked lanes on Interstate 5, according to a bulletin issued by the Washington State Patrol.

The state patrol says the multiple-vehicle wreck occurred just before 4 a.m. at milepost 88. Traffic in the area was delayed for four hours.

The two cars stopped in the roadway as they neared a construction zone and were struck by the semi-truck that tried to avoid them but couldn’t, according to the bulletin.

Three people involved in the crash were transported to area hospitals to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, including Kwi Y. Brown, 64, of Vancouver. Brown was driving a four-door Cadillac that was totaled.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. No citations have been issued.
