EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have signed seventh-round draft pick Ryan D’Imperio.

D’Imperio played linebacker at Rutgers. He had 185 tackles and seven sacks in his four-year career.

The Vikings plan to move the hard-nosed hitter to fullback in the NFL and he also figures to get plenty of work on special teams.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. D’Imperio is the first of the Vikings’ eight-member 2010 draft class to sign a contract. Minnesota did not have a first-round pick after trading down into the second round.
