JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire planned to attend Monday’s departure ceremony at Joint Base Lewis-McChord for 70 Washington Army National Guard soldiers headed for a year in Afghanistan.
Members of B Company, 1st Battalion, 168th Aviation Regiment fly and maintain Chinook helicopters that transport troops and supplies.
