Vancouver-based Organic Products Trading Co. has been acquired by Coffee Holding Co. Inc., a wholesale coffee roaster and dealer in Staten Island, N.Y.
Coffee Holding Co. announced Tuesday that it purchased substantially all of the company’s assets, including inventory, trademarks and supply-chain relationships. Terms of the agreement are undisclosed.
The Vancouver company, with about $10 million per year in revenue, works directly with coffee farmers in South America and Central America to develop and import certified organic green specialty coffee, which is sold directly to small- and medium-sized roasters throughout the United States and Canada. All of the company’s employees have entered two-year employment agreements with former owners Garth and Gaylene Smith to ensure continuity of the business. The company will also keep its name and Vancouver operations.
