Here’s a little relief from budget cuts that have hit local parks and recreation programs hard.

The Parks Foundation of Clark County just won a $15,000 grant for recreation scholarships from the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington’s Community Giving Fund.

The money will be used to pay costs for low-income families to participate in local recreation programs via Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation and its “Everybody Plays!” scholarship program.

For more information, contact Cheri Martin at cheri.martin@parksfoundation.us or 360-619-1170. The Parks Foundation, a nonprofit corporation that supports a variety of parks and recreation programs and causes, can be visited at www.parksfoundation.us.
