TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Tacoma fire officials say two Friday morning housefires are unrelated to a recent string of arsons in the city.
The first fire was caused by a child playing with matches. The cause of the second has not been determined, but firefighters do not suspect arson.
Over the past three weeks, 11 fires with suspicious origins have started in the area of 49th Avenue Northeast and 32nd Street Northeast. All the fires have burned trees and landscaping, but not structures.
