MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Authorities in Northern California say an 84-year-old Medford man is the owner of a single-engine plane that crashed Saturday in a mountainous area near Happy Camp.

Siskiyou County Sheriff Rick Riggins told the Mail Tribune newspaper his investigators have yet to determine with certainty that Alonzo Mullin was on board when it crashed

Search and rescue teams have yet to recover the pilot of the plane, though articles of clothing had been found.

Mullin is a World War II veteran who often flies to Palm Springs to see his daughter.
