SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The National Weather Service says Spokane has set a record for rainfall on this date.

As of 4 p.m. Thursday, .95 inches of rain was recorded at Spokane International Airport. That blew out the old record of .84 inches set in 1898, and rain was still coming down. The rain began falling about 10 a.m.

The towns of Cheney, Nespelem and Wellpinit all received at least an inch of rain Thursday.

It has been an unsettled weather week in Spokane. On Monday, Spokane set a record low of 32 degrees for that date.
