A Vancouver firefighter will appear in a prerecorded video on “LIVE with Regis & Kelly” today as part of the show’s “Coast to Coast Firehouse Cookoff.”

Dave Wrast, 41, was selected after submitting a video of him making a Thai beef salad. Wrast is based at the Vancouver Fire Department’s Heights station, Jen Wrast said.

The Vancouver firefighter was one of five selected to appear today during a beef cook-off.

Over the weekend, you can vote for Wrast at http://www.liveregisandkelly.com. The winner will be flown to New York to appear on the show next week. The results of the vote will be revealed June 1.

The winner of the contest will receive $10,000 and have their recipe published in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

Only a snippet of Wrast cooking will appear on the show, but Jen Wrast said you can watch his entire two-minute submission by visiting the show’s website.

“LIVE with Regis & Kelly,” is on KATU today at 11 a.m.
