Skyview’s Kent Andreasen did not drop a set in two singles matches Friday while reaching the Class 4A state boys tennis semifinals at Tri-City Court Club in Kennewick.

The sophomore defeated Alex Marcinkowski of Gonzaga Prep 6-3, 6-3 and then Joseph de la Cruz of Todd Beamer 6-4, 6-3.

Andreasen will face Max Jiganti of Gig Harbor in the semifinal this morning.

In the doubles draw, two Mountain View pairs each won their opening-round match at Kamiakin High School.

Chaeran Kim and Jenna Grillo reached the semifinal on the girls side, but Jack Wang and Trevor Jones went 1-1 in the boys draw.

At the Class 2A state tournament in Seattle, Hockinson’s Mackenzie McWilliams won her opening match at the Nordstrom Tennis Center, but then fell into the consolation bracket with a quarterfinal loss.

McWilliams, a senior, injury-defaulted to Mark Morris’ Lauren Salberg.

Washougal’s boys doubles team of Steven Goosby and Caylem Nunes went 0-2.
