TORONTO (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles have recalled right-hander Chris Tillman from Triple-A Norfolk to start Saturday against the Blue Jays.
Tillman was 5-4 with a 3.12 ERA in 10 starts at Norfolk, including an April 28 no-hitter against Gwinnett.
Baltimore optioned right-hander Cla Meredith to Triple-A after Friday’s 5-0 loss to clear a spot for Tillman. He takes the rotation spot of David Hernandez, who was moved to the bullpen earlier this week.
Tillman made 12 starts for the Orioles in 2009, going 2-5 with a 5.40 ERA. He is 0-2 in two career starts against Toronto.
