SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Washington Nationals say Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to start again for Triple-A Syracuse at Buffalo on Thursday.
The Nationals have not said when Strasburg, the No. 1 pick in last year’s draft, will make his major league debut. It was reported last week that the Nationals will promote Strasburg for their June 8-10 series against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Washington.
In five Triple-A starts, Strasburg is 3-1 with a 1.27 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 28 1-3 innings. In 10 minor league starts, including five at Double-A Harrisburg, he’s 6-2 with a 1.43 ERA.
In the most pedestrian of his Triple-A starts, the former San Diego State star allowed three runs and six hits in five-plus innings on Saturday night.
