OROFINO, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a five-year-old Washington boy drowned after slipping into a deep water section of the Dworshak Reservoir.

The Clearwater County Sheriff Department says the boy, from Latah, Washington, drowned Saturday. The boy’s identity has not yet been made public.

The boy and his family were camping along the reservoir. Parents called police late Saturday morning after the boy went missing. He was last seen throwing rocks from shore for the family’s dog.

His body was discovered about 16 feet below the surface.
