HERZOGENAURACH, Germany (AP) — Midfielder Jonathan Dos Santos has been dropped from Mexico’s final World Cup squad.
Dos Santos was the major casualty when coach Javier Aguirre announced his 23-man roster on the Mexican federation website Monday. Dos Santos’ brother Giovani plays for Turkish club Galatasaray,
Aguirre did not comment on the roster at the team’s training base in southern Germany.
Mexico plays the World Cup opener on June 11 against host South Africa and also faces Uruguay and France in Group A.
