SEATTLE (AP) — The Sound Transit board decided to keep its “1 percent for art” spending at 1 percent.
The funding level was upheld on an 8-6 vote at Thursday’s meeting, although CEO Joni Earl had recommended a reduction to .75 of a percent of construction costs.
The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reports the agency is facing an anticipated budget shortfall of $3.9 billion as it expands the Seattle area’s light rail, express bus and commuter rail systems.
