Lyle/Wishram 52, King’s Way 14

Henry Matai moved to fourth place on the all-time eight-man rushing totals in the state with more than 6,000 career yards as Lyle/Wishram clinched the league title with a win over King’s Way Christian.

Josh Russell rushed for 217 yards and seven carries and two touchdowns, including a King’s Way-record 98 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

The Knights were led on defense by E.J. Russell (seven tackles), Andrew Kingsbury (seven tackles, one sack) and Daniel Gillock (six tackles).

King’s Way, Lyle/Wishram and Taholah entered the evening in a three-way tie for first place in league. Lyle captured the league title with the win.

Season record: King’s Way finishes 6-4 overall, 6-2 in league.
