Mills leads San Diego over Morehead State 34-0

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Mason Mills threw for three touchdowns and the San Diego defense forced five turnovers as the Toreros defeated Morehead State 34-0 on Saturday.

Mills tossed first-half scoring strikes of 59 yards to Kyle Warren and 23 yards to Reggie Bell and added a 5-yard TD toss to Godfrey Smith in the fourth quarter as San Diego (4-6, 4-3 Pioneer League) improved to 6-0 all-time against Morehead State (3-6, 2-4). Mills was 17 for 32 for 240 yards.

Al-Rilwan Adeyemi returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter for USD’s first score. Later, Adeyemi again intercepted Eagles quarterback Zach Lewis, who finished 14 for 38 for 125 yards and committed four turnovers.

San Diego posted its second shutout of the season.
