PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani intelligence officials say an U.S. missile strike has killed five suspected militants close to the Afghan border.
The two officials say a pair of missiles struck a house and a vehicle Sunday just north of Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
The region is home to al-Qaida militants and Taliban groups known to attack U.S. troops across the border in neighboring Afghanistan.
