UConn tops Bridgeport 103-57 in exhibition game

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Kemba Walker scored 21 points and freshman Jeremy Lamb had 17 to lead Connecticut to a 103-57 exhibition win over Bridgeport on Sunday.

Alex Oriakhi went 5 for 5 from the field and finished with 16 points for UConn, which went 8 of 12 from 3-point range in the first half and led 53-23 at the break.

Walker also had eight assists and eight rebounds against the Purple Knights, who advanced to the Division II tournament last season for the sixth time in the last eight years.

UConn outrebounded Bridgeport 44-31 despite being even at the half.

Josh Martin, a junior from Philadelphia in his first season, scored a team-high 14 points for Bridgeport, which shot 36.9 percent from the field and was 5 of 21 from 3-point range.
