Michigan State beats Neb.-Omaha in exhibition

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Kalin Lucas hit five 3-pointers and scored 25 points to lead No. 2 Michigan State to a 102-72 exhibition victory over Nebraska-Omaha on Monday night.

Draymond Green added 16 points for the Spartans and hit two 3-pointers, matching his total from beyond the arc over the past two seasons.

The Spartans trailed 15-14 after 9 minutes, then took command with 11 straight points. They shot 50.7 percent from the field, including 45.5 from 3-point range, and had a 52-32 rebounding edge.

Freshman Keith Appling scored 15 points for Michigan State, while Durrell Summers added 11. Freshman forward Adriean Payne had 13 rebounds.

Torrian Harris, Green’s brother, led the Mavericks with 13 points.

Michigan State played without starting forward Delvon Roe, who was ill, and defensive specialist Mike Kebler, who was on crutches with an ankle injury.
