Turner: no more punts blocked this season

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Norv Turner guarantees that the San Diego Chargers won’t have any more punts blocked this season.

The Chargers had to dig themselves out of another hole Sunday to beat the Houston Texans 29-23. Texans linebacker Stanford Keglar deflected Mike Scifres’ punt less than two minutes into the game, and Houston recovered at the Chargers 8.

It was the fifth San Diego punt blocked or deflected this season, and Arian Foster scored on the next snap.

Turner’s guarantee came after he was asked Monday if he’d fire special teams coach Steve Crosby.

Turner says he’d be more inclined to get rid of the five players who’ve allowed the blocked punts this season. The coach says the Chargers (4-5) will fix the problem during their bye week.
