BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Virginia Tech’s athletic trainer says tailback and kickoff returner David Wilson has been sidelined with mononucleosis.

Mike Goforth said Tuesday that Wilson and defensive end Chris Drager will miss Saturday’s game between the 16th-ranked Hokies (7-2, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) and North Carolina (6-3, 3-2) at Chapel Hill, N.C. Drager is suffering the effects of a hit in last week’s Georgia Tech game.

Wilson and Drager are expected back for the Nov. 20 game at Miami, Goforth said.

Wilson is averaging 28.6 yards per kickoff return and has run back two for touchdowns. He is also the Hokies’ third-leading rusher with 462 yards.

Drager has eight solo tackles and 10 assists in eight games, seven of them starts.
