Bellevue College gets jobs grant to help veterans

BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) — Bellevue College is one of six organizations nationally to receive grants from Microsoft Corp. to help pay for a program that helps veterans get jobs.

The college announced the $200,000 two-year grant on Wednesday. The company is also providing software and training materials for a special seminar for veterans designed to help them transition from military service to the civilian world.

The other Microsoft grants are going to programs in San Diego, Charlotte, N.C., Panama City, Fla., New York, and Worcester, Mass.

Microsoft is awarding grants totaling $2 million for this project.
