RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Seattle coach Pete Carroll is dealing this week with having lost consecutive games for the first time since 2001, when he was in his first season at Southern California.

He at least got some good news on Wednesday.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has been cleared to return to practice following his concussion two weeks ago against Oakland and is expected to start Sunday when the Seahawks travel to Arizona. Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane is also back after missing the last four games with a lingering calf injury.

The return of Hasselbeck and Mebane is a major boost after the Seahawks were routed by Oakland and the New York Giants by a combined 74-10.
