Bradley beats Texas A&M-Kingsville 66-55

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Walt Lemon Jr. scored 16 points Friday night as Bradley defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville 66-55 in the season opener for both schools.

Dodie Dunson scored 14 points, Dyricus Simms-Edwards 13 and Will Egolf 12 for the Braves, who led 33-25 at the half. Egolf and Lemon each pulled down seven rebounds for the winners.

Lovings led the Javelinas with 15 points and eight rebounds. Antwan Mullins added 10 for Texas A&M-Kingsville, a Division II school. The game was part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament.

Neither team fared well from behind the 3-point line. Texas A&M-Kingsville was 5-of-21 while Bradley was 3-of-17, missing all seven of its attempts in the second half.
